I have stayed at the Adelphi Pattaya 5 times.
At this point I am very familiar and extremely comfortable staying at this hotel. With the number of trips and my familiarity, I feel like Pattaya is my second home and the Adelphi my go-to hotel.
It has all the things necessary:
The price has been right on all my trips (a little over $50 USD per night), plus, I have never had an issue.
The Adelphi Hotel is located on the easterly side of the Central Pattaya area about 2 and a half blocks from the beach or a little west of 3rd Road.
Central Pattaya Area MapThe Adelphi Hotel is not a beach hotel, but a good hotel in the heart of Central Pattaya.
The blocks in Pattaya are very long, it isn't a quick, easy walk to the beach from the Adelphi. Think a long and hot walk. Fortunately you can get to the beach fairly easily by baht bus.
If you want a quick walk to the beach, you need to stay on Beach Road. Of course, the closer to the beach, the higher the hotel prices.
Blow Up View of the Adelphi Hotel Location Showing Nearby Conveniences (Adelphi is noted in the lower right-hand corner)A Pharmacy is right next door to the east. I buy Sidegra, costing $400 ThB for a box of 4 which would be $3.25 USD per pill. I purchased some medications when I was ill. I just asked the pharmacist for advice and was directed to a solution. Pharmacy prices are modest.
I normally drop off a small load every day around noon when I go out for my mid-day meal at one of the nearby laundry's just west of the Adelphi. The clothes will be ready the following day. Laundry's usually take Sunday's and Thai Holidays off, so adjust your schedule accordingly. The laundry person will let you know.
I buy a case of water at the mini-mart a little farther to the west. I may buy some cheap junk food when I'm stumbling back to the hotel after bar time. I think they might be open 24 hours.
Lots of Conveniences Right at Soi Buakhao:
Soi Buakhao has more bars, restaurants, pharmacies, massage shops and hotels than you can count.
A hotel room pass card is needed to get to the upper floors.
The pass card is not needed to get down to the first floor from upper floors. When a guest leaves your room, they can get down to the lobby to pick up their ID without you escorting them out.
The front desk clerk will call you before giving your guest their ID to make sure everything is ok.
Everything has been fine for me on my trips.
Adelphi Hotel in Pattaya Rooftop PoolI love puttering around in the morning drinking coffee in my room and the balcony like I am retired, then having a cup or 2 late in the afternoon to perk up before going out on the town.
King bed, roomy, easy to clean floors, closet, drawers, refrigerator and room safe in the closet
Desk with drawers and a desk chair. Electrical outlet near the desk. Kettle to boil water for coffee or tea
Good sized bathroom, decent lighting at the sink with countertop space, large toilet, large shower with a moveable and handheld shower headOn a long trip to Pattaya...far away from your home...with a very long plane ride to get there... you will arrive tired.
With the excitement of the trip, you will power through and enjoy the nightlife on your first night if you are like me...an aging man, who still loves to party and meet ladies.
But if you are also like me and been working hard for decades and increased how much you worked in the last month or so before Pattaya, putting yourself in a position to avoid worry about work on your trip, you will feel exhausted after a few days.
So I like to hang around the hotel slowing things down a bit so I feel rested, not rushed and refreshed.
On my road trips to enjoy the scenic mountains, deserts and plains of the USA, I go, go, go, from early morning until late at night.
With the extremely high hotel prices($200 to $300 or more USD) in the US for lodging, I can't justify a trip of too many nights and I pack in the sight-seeing, doing as much as possible each day.
In the last 10 years, I have had enough vacation time to take a 2 week or more epic road trip every year, but not the budget for lodging.
With the Pattaya hotel prices being so reasonable I enjoy just being at the hotel.
Sleeping and napping as needed, especially if I am overtired or not feeling well. Enjoying the morning leisurely drinking coffee on the balcony, updating my records, reflecting on the fun I had the night before or hanging out at the hotel pool.
The rooms work well for entertaining a guest in the evening too with the overall roominess and provided soap and shampoo in the shower (hint: save a fresh towel for a guest).
Thailand is a developing country. Most Thais live very modestly. Comfortable chairs, couches and beds are not really a thing for them like they are for people in the west.
Most places you go will not have comfortable chairs, couches or stools. Padded chairs are not the norm. You need to seek comfort out in Pattaya. The most comfortable places in Pattaya are in the nicer Massage Shops where they have big comfy leather chairs and footstools.
To the Thais, if we want comfort, we have to pay for it.
The Beds
The beds aren't that great. They seem cheap and heavily used. The mattresses are not thick and forgiving. When I wake up early and still need rest it is not easy to drift off to sleep again for a needed few more hours.
Usually one side or the other is tolerable. If you need a great bed, you need to be a lot more picky and willing to spend a lot more for your room.
I find that after a few days I get used to it and sleep enough after expending a lot of energy exploring most of the afternoon and partying all night.
All the other good things for me outweigh the disadvantage of the beds.
The Good
It's far enough away from Soi Buakhao that you don't hear the noise from the music and the bars if you go to bed early.
If you're on the lower floors you may hear some street noise later at night - garbage trucks roll through the city right after bar time and souped up motorcycles roar down the empty Soi's at high speeds.
The Bad
I don't mind the longish walk out to Soi Buakhao for my explorations and nighttime adventures. But, on some nights I can hardly make that last walk from Soi Buakhao. Especially on my August trips when the heat and humidity did not relent even late at night.

I'm sure you'll love the Adelphi Hotel in Pattaya.
I just hope everyone doesn't book it when I go on my next trip.
