I search for comfort in Pattaya Thailand just like I do at home.
After I left my wife, and the beautiful, but very uncomfortable home we lived in, I set about my bachelor life of creating a comfortable life for myself.

Lifestyle
My life flies in the face of most of the rest of the world that most suffer in. Small, tight, non-padded chairs. Hard beds. Tight clothing. A general lack of comfortable surroundings.
Obligations and responsibilities you foolishly agree to even though you do not want to do them.
You get the idea. I have created a perfect, easy, comfortable life for myself. I bristle when I have to deal with uncomfortable surroundings. .
Thailand is a developing country. Some parts are super modern, far more advanced than back in the US. Some parts are super backward, far behind us.
The Thai people are small, tough, hardy and used to dealing with discomfort. They don't seem to mind hard, non-padded chairs. Because they are mostly small framed, narrow seats are not an issue to them.
Because most wear sandals or flip flops, narrow shoes are not an issue either.
But all these are issues to me. I am a large guy. Over 300 pounds of muscle and fat of course. I work an office job, sitting in a comfortable office chair all day and go home to even more comfortable furniture.
I walk at home, but not that far.
I cannot take discomfort for very long. Minutes, not hours. I am always looking for a better seat, a more comfortable chair or some way to soothe my aching, old body.
I need well padded shoes with socks to walk around.
I need a well padded chair stool that is wide and not rickety.
I even need a seat in a find a good spot (near a fan, not behind the beer taps or a post (i.e. so I can see around the room and outside).
Any free outdoor seating
Las Vegas Beer Bar Complex
The last time I went there were hundreds of metal stools with no backs and no padding.
Most Bars
You have to carefully choose your seat in the bars. Most will have some comfortable seating, but not all the seats will be. Some of the stools will be narrow, heavily used with the padding all mushed down and kind of rickety. Don't be afraid to sit in a few and get up and try others until you are satisfied.
Sometimes, I just have one beer and have to move on if the seating is terrible.
All inexpensive restaurants
Think of it from a Thai business perspective. Spend as little on furniture as possible to be able to charge as little as possible for the food. Plus, it keeps people from lingering.
Restrooms in all the older bars and restaurants
Dirty, small, heavily, heavily used. Low ceilings, filthy towels. Low water pressure. Smelly.
Good, clean, spacious restrooms are very important to me. These are not everywhere in Pattaya. I go into detail here - Restroom Facilities in Pattaya Thailand
Sidewalks
The sidewalks are non-existent in some places. And in some places, they are under construction with holes and wires and poles in the way.
Streets
The streets can get wild with traffic and motor bikes zipping in and out and around.
It can be very uncomfortable in Pattaya. You have to be on your toes, search for comfort and enjoy the experience.
I love siting out on my hotel balcony. But the chair is horrible. Hard as a rock ans a bit narrow. One of the first things I do is buy a bad for it at the Big CYour hotel
The pricier the hotel, the more comfortable it tends to be.
High class restaurants.
High class bars.
Some seating in some of the bars
Many bars will have some decent seating. But you need to search it out. Don't be in such a hurry to sit down. Or sit down to try and then get up to try others.
Barber Shops
These are normally nice. I love relaxing for an hour or so to get the full treatment - haircut, shave, waxed nose hair and waxed ear hair. The manicures and pedicures are usually done on one of the side chairs instead of the barbershop chairs.
Foot Massage Chairs
These are by far the most comfortable places to sit in Pattaya. In addition to having a talented Thai lady massage your feet and lower legs, you can sit in total comfort for an hour. This is a very good way to rejuvnate yourself. I usually get one foot massage per day. In the afternoon to cool off and relax from too much walking. Or in the evening after drinking a bit too much or spending too much energy. Some days I get two.
After a few days in Pattaya, you will need to search out some comfort to soothe your exhausted and aching body from all the exploring and adventures. Having the time of your life takes a lot of effort.
