My Favorite Pattaya Thailand Nightlife Streets

There are various Pattaya Thailand nightlife streets with hundreds of bars of various types.

I've sampled hundreds of these bars over the course of my 5 trips and have only scratched the surface.

This is a bit of detail on some of my favorite streets.

This way you can get a feel of where to go and what you might expect.

What is a Soi?

"Soi "is a Thail word for street or road.  For example:

  • Soi Buakhao
  • Soi Made in Thailand
  • Soi New Plaza

As you can see the word Soi is placed in front rather than after.

Soi's are usually the side streets or smaller roads rather than wide, multi-lane Roads.

What About Roads?

They also use the term "Roads".  For example:

  • Beach Road
  • Second Road
  • Third Road

Some Streets Just Have Numbers

Some have no Soi or Road.  For example:

  • Pattayasaisong 11
  • Pattayasaisong 9 Aly

What the Pattaya Thailand Nightlife Streets (and/or Soi's) Have in Common

  • Multiple bars grouped together.  You are just steps away from the next option.
  • Various happy hours and drink specials helping to keep your costs under control.
  • Some FREE Live music venues - just listen and walk towards the music
  • Plenty of massage shops mixed in or nearby for a relaxing foot massage to rest in an extremely comfortable chair and not drink for an hour or so.
  • Many options to get a delicious (or necessary) snack or meal with some open until after bar time.
  • Motorbike taxi's available to get you back to your hotel quickly.  Taxis can be found too.
  • Close to the baht bus lines that run on Beach Road, Second Road and Soi Buakhao.
  • Restroom facilities, but some are quite marginal:( You may need to hustle over to the Central Festival Mall, to a newer place or even back to your hotel for a you-know-what.
  • Modestly priced drinks, pool tables, bar games, decent barstools, tables to set your drink and your elbows, friendly, accommodating staff and plenty of attractive ladies for you to meet:)
Central Pattaya North South Roads

Soi Buakhao - One of the Main Pattaya Thailand Nightlife Streets with Heavy Traffic

Soi Buakhao is two-way traffic. Normally you can get on the baht bus just by waving down the driver.  Soi Buakhao only has 2 lanes of traffic and can get extremely busy. 

Only some of Soi Buakhao has sidewalks, so be careful!  Everyone says to walk facing the traffic.

Soi Buakhao starts at the intersection of South Pattaya Road on the south and runs north to Central Pattaya Road.

The majority of the bars are located in the middle portion, about 6 blocks north and 10 blocks south of Treetown with minimal nightlife at the far north and south ends.

You Will Notice:

  • Countless bars of every type lining the street.
  • Restaurants.
  • Massage shops.
  • Incredible amount of vehicle and pedestrian traffic as the night wears on.
  • Prices a bit higher than quieter streets (Soi's).
  • Starting point of many of the east-west roads discussed below.
  • Live music venues: Candy Club, Mayfairs, Matador and Rock Factory.
  • 7 - 11's for things you may need.

Beach Road - Another Main Pattaya Thailand Nightlife Street with Heavy Traffic

Beach Road is one-way traffic going south.  Normally you can get on the baht bus at specific stops.  The buses do not seem to stop by waving them down like on Soi Buakhao.  Beach Road has multiple lanes of traffic and can get very busy.

Beach Roads starts on the south immediately north of Walking Street at the intersection with South Pattaya Road.  It runs parallel to the ocean, with the beach on the west side and bars, restaurants, malls, hotels and other stores on the east side.  It ends at the intersection of North Pattaya Road.

The majority of the Beach Road bars are closer to the intersection of Central Pattaya Road.  These are really nice to watch the sunset and can get very full by late afternoon.

You Will Like:

  • Bars facing the ocean and Beach Road.  Great for sunsets and people watching.
  • There are some high-class bars just north of Central Pattaya Road before you get to Soi 6.
  • Walking along the wide, safe, paved path next to the Beach.
  • Tahitian Queen.  The oldest, and most famous, Go-Go Bar in Pattaya.
  • Access to the Horizon Bar and Serontel Hotel rooftop bars.
  • Central Festival Mall for great restrooms, AC, restaurants and food court.

Second Road - Another Main Pattaya Thailand Nightlife Street With Heavy Traffic

Second Road is one-way traffic going north. Normally you can get on the baht bus at specific stops. I have a little bit better luck flagging down a bus on Second Road than on Beach Road. Second Road has multiple lanes of traffic and can get very busy.

Second Road starts at the intersection of South Pattaya Road on the south and runs north all the way out of Central Pattaya all the way to Terminal 21 Mall.

You Will Like:

  • Access to Central Festival Mall for great restrooms, AC, restaurants and food courts.
  • Plenty of massage shops for a relaxing hour getting a foot massage or any type of massage.
  • A large variety of restaurants to choose from and access to quite a few bar complexes.
  • The Pattaya Night Bazaar for some evening needs and enjoyable browsing.

Third Road - Another Main Pattaya Thailand Nightlife Street With Heavy Traffic

Third Road does not really have a lot of nightlife.  But it is heavily trafficked and you may find yourself staying on or on the other side of Third Road.

Third Road is two-way traffic. While I have seen baht buses on Third Road I have not been able to wave them down.  Third Road has multiple lanes of traffic and can get busy, but not nearly as busy as the other 3 north-south roads.

Third Road starts at the intersection of South Pattaya Road on the south and runs north to Central Pattaya Road.

Notes:

  • Not a lot of nightlife except for Kings Club & Babylon Paradise, 2 of the most famous GC's in Pattaya.
  • There is a fabulous pool hall near Kings Club.

Pattaya Thailand Nightlife Streets -
Smaller Soi's and Streets Perpendicular to the Main Roads

You cannot catch the baht bus on these roads.  They are typically narrow, with some having minimal traffic, but there are exceptions, so always be on the lookout for vehicles.

Soi Lenkee (East - West Road)

Starts at the intersection of Soi Buakhao and runs east to Third Road.

This is the most southerly of the major east - west roads with a lot of Pattaya nightlife.

Wide, usually very busy road with 2 way traffic. 

You Will Notice:

  • Some huge hotels on the south side.  
  • Restaurants, bars and massage shops pack the north side.
  • My favorite massage shop, GC, steak restaurant, and pizza place are all on this road.

Pattayasaisong 13 (East - West Road)

Starts at the intersection of Soi Buakhao and runs west to Second Road.

You Will Love:

  • Area 51 bar.  Very high class, modern bar.
  • Las Vegas Beer Garden complex.  Brand new beer garden complex.  Live music Wednesday through Sunday. 
  • An older beer garden complex to the east before you get to the steakhouse's and other restaurant complex.

Soi Chiaypoon , AKA Soi "Pothole"(East - West Road)

Starts at the intersection of Soi Buakhao and runs east to Third Road.

It is also known as Soi Pothole because of the massive number of potholes.  They did a poor job of constructing the road without dealing with the drainage.  The last I heard, they did repave it, so it might be ok for awhile.

Very narrow road with minimal vehicle traffic at night, so fairly safe for walking except for the treacherous potholes.

You Will Notice:

  • Has a Soi 6 feel with bars lining both sides of the street and with minimal vehicles the ladies are out on the street calling at you to come into their bar for a drink.  Some of the more aggressive ladies will grab your arm.
  • Multiple bar options with hybrid bars with rooms, gentleman's clubs plus regular bars.

You Will Love:

  • The prices.  Many of the bars cater to frugal gentlemen.
  • The Triangle Bar right near the intersection with Soi Buakhao for live music.

Pattayasaisong 11 (East - West Road)

Starts at the intersection of Soi Buakhao and runs west to Second Road.  AKA Soi Honey named for another famous GC - Hunny Lounge and the Honey Corner bar.

You Will Love:

  • Honey Corner Bar, right on Soi Buakhao.
  • Hemmingway's, almost to Second Road.  Great high-class place for a meal or snack.

Pattayasaisong 9 Aly (East - West Road)

Starts at the intersection of Soi Buakhao and runs west to Second Road.

The section close to Soi Buakhao is part of Treetown.

You Will Love:

  • The excitement where it is part of Treetown.
  • Wursty's for a snack.
  • Some quiet bars closer to Second Road.

Soi Made in Thailand (East - West Road)

Starts at the intersection of Soi Buakhao and runs west to Second Road.

Just north of Treetown.

You Will Notice:

  • Very old open-air beer bar complexes on both sides of the road near Soi Buakhao.  Good prices here.
  • A brand new open air beer bar complex, called "Mystic Myth Night" adjacent to Second Road.  Nice new restrooms, a hamburger stand and some live music.

Soi New Plaza (East - West Road)

Starts at the intersection of Soi Buakhao and runs west to Second Road.

You Will Love:

  • The high class wine bar at Second Road.
  • The multiple old, open-air beer bars with lower prices.
  • The night market at the Soi Buakhao for shopping and snacks.
  • That it's quieter than many other locations with minimal vehicle traffic.

Soi 8 (East - West Road)

Starts at the intersection of Second Road and runs west to Beach Road.

You Will Love:

  • The beach bar vibes at the far west end.
  • Rolling Live 3 for free live music.

Soi 7 (East - West Road)

Starts at the intersection of Second Road and runs west to Beach Road.

You Will Notice:

  • The beach bar vibes at the far west end.
  • There is a small north-south road (Soi Night Out) that connects to Soi 8 with another open-air beer bar complex.

Central Pattaya Road (East - West Road)

This road starts at Beach Road and goes west all the way out of Central Pattaya.  It has multiple lanes of two-way traffic.  Usually when you catch the baht bus on Soi Buakhao it will take you down Central Pattaya Road to Second Road or maybe Beach Road.

There is not a lot of nightlife on Central Pattaya Road.

However, there are a few bars close to Beach Road that are very nice.

I met a Palmy look alike at one of them:)

I've had a crush on Palmy since the first time I saw her in some music videos. She is one of the major reason I wanted to get to Thailand in the first place.

Soi 6

Soi 6 is starts at Second Road and goes to Beach Road.  It rivals Walking Street with the number of bars and excitement.  

You will notice:

  • The only vehicles seem to be delivery trucks keeping the bars stocked with beer.
  • Countless bars and ladies.
  • A pizza place in the middle for some needed nourishment.
  • A massage shop near Beach Road for some rest.

Pattaya Thailand Nightlife Streets -
Loop Type Soi's and Streets 

These areas have both north-south and east-west roads.

They all have a chaotic, intense energy with loud music, lots of ladies, multiple bars and many visitors.

Soi Boomerang (Loop Road)

The main entrance is off Soi Buakhao with most of the nightlife on that end.

The other entrance is on Buakhaow 15 and is a way to get to the Pattaya Avenue Mall.

You Will Love:

  • Multiple GC's, Go-Go Bars and regular bars.
  • No vehicle traffic.

LK Metro (Loop Road)

This road starts at Soi Buakhao, then goes east before taking a 90 degree towards the south where is connects with  Pattayasaisong 13

You Will Notice:

  • Multiple GC's, Go-Go Bars and regular bars.
  • An energy and intensity similar to Walking Street, but in a smaller space.
  • No vehicle traffic.
  • Bronx Pizza is right across Soi Buakhao from the entrance.

Treetown (Loop Road)

This is a U-shaped Street that surrounds a food court open until bar time and is right off of Soi Buakhao.  The bars here are mostly open-air beer bars.

You Will Love:

  • Minimal vehicle traffic is allowed on the road at night, so it is quite safe for walking.
  • The tall, airy open-air beer bars.
  • Live music at Basileks, plus some of the bars have occasional live music.
  • The food court in the middle plus other nice food stalls like Wursty's and Mamaburger on the outside.

You won't like:

  • The only restroom is a long walk through a back alley area to the north.

While Treetown is exciting, loud and wild, it is not as loud and chaotic as Soi Boomerang and LK Metro.

Treetown (Loop Road)This is the south entrance to Treetown at the intersection of Soi Buakhao
