Here are a few random Pattaya Nightlife tips to keep in mind, save some money, and enjoy your vacation in paradise even more.

It takes good money to go to Pattaya. The flight, the lodging, the meals, admissions, the costs at home (parking at the airport, tolls, meals in preparation, stuff you need to buy at home for the trip, etc.) and of course, the nightlife in Pattaya.

But you don't have to spend all your money if you are somewhat responsible.

Don't:

Ring the bell. All the bars have some sort of big bell with a rope on it. There is typically a sign near the bell along the lines of -"Ring the Bell to Buy the Staff a Drink." Don't ring it. Buy yourself a drink and perhaps buy one lady a drink if you'd like her to sit with you. There is no need to go overboard buying everyone a drink.
Feel pressured to buy people in the bar a drink. No one minds getting a free drink and will think nothing of pressuring you to buy a round. Whether staff or other customer's.
Spend too much time in one bar. I find the best way to control my costs is to keep moving. A drink or two in one bar is enough for me to see if there is anyone there I want to get to know better. I like to bar hop, seeing what is going on in multiple bars throughout the night. This is a good way to avoid getting too drunk or spending too much money. Plus you get some exercise, fresh air and sober up. There is always another bar nearby.

Do:

Buy the ladies a drink. But that is because you want her to sit by you and get to know her better. Lady drinks (the drink you buy a lady to sit with you) are more expensive than your drink. The extra cost is part of her pay. But I'm careful to avoid going overboard. If you don't be careful, you will end up the buying a bunch of drinks and end up with a huge bar bill.
Go out early in the evening or late afternoon and take advantage of drink specials. There will be signs near the entrance. And you can ask if they have specials. There may even be specials later on at night from time to time.
Slow down during the night. Walk slower from bar to bar. This gives you time to get the lay of the land and study the bar. A vacation in Pattaya isn't like going out at home, when you just have the weekend to party. You are probably there for a week or more and the party is constant. You don't have to guzzle your drinks fast, get drunk and sober up for work in a few days. You have time.
Look at your check each time it is updated. Make sure it seems right.

The check bin is to the right of my beer. It holds your current bar bill. You don't pay as you (there are some exceptions). You pay the total when you leave. Glance at it as they update it for the drinks you order for you and for a lday if you're drinking with her

Closed door bars will have full Air Conditioning. This is often the best way to cool down from the Southeast Asian heat. Sometimes I ask at the door if they have AC before I go in.

Fans

Open Air Beer Bars will have plenty of big fans blowing with a nice breeze making it nice.

Some bars are a combination of open air and closed. Open in the front by the street and some room in the back with full AC.

Seating

All the bars will have plenty of seating, with the exception of the most popular live music bars. In high season, the staff may have to squeeze you in and sit with strangers at their table. It's fine. Nobody seems to mind.

Quality of the Seating

Check the chairs and stools before you commit to staying. I look for nice wide, padded chairs and stools. Some places have horrible seating. Non-padded chairs and stools. Some are wobbly. You may have to check out multiple bars for better seating.

Massage Shops

The massage shops seem to stay open until bar time or maybe even a bit later. Getting a foot massage during your evening out is a great way to avoid getting too drunk and a way to control your costs along with sitting in the most comfortable chairs and resting.

Massage Shops are scattered all around Pattaya, both within the bar areas and the side streets on the way to another bar area

Random Pattaya Nightlife Tips - Food

Pattaya totally shines with food at night (and during the day).

Most all restaurants are open until 10:00 pm to enjoy a late night dinner. Many restaurants are also open until midnight.

And there are many options to get a meal or snack until bar time and later.

My favorite late night food on and Near Soi Buakhao are:

Bronx Pizza. Pizza by the slice. Walk up to the front, point at the pizza slice (or 2 or 3) you want. It is already cooked, but they will pop it into the oven for a few minutes to reheat. Pay at the counter. Sit down in the small space in the back. It is small, you may have to share a booth. Or you could wait outside and take it with you. They will bring it to you.

It will be extremely hot. This is the type of pizza you need when you’re trashed and you need to sober up enough to get back to your hotel. Plus, it’s the delicious New York flavor that I love.

Mamaburger. Hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries. South side of Treetown at the end closet to Soi Buakhao. There are a few chairs (kind of flimsy, so be careful) you can sit and wait while she cooks and then eat it there and people watch. I’ve sat here drinking a few beers too when I was too tired to move on. Delicious, and addictive burgers.

Wursty’s. Brats, and other German specialties. South side of Treetown towards the back of Treetown a block or so from Soi Buakhao.

Kebab stand. On Soi Buakhao across the street from Rock Factory. Not much for chairs to eat it there. They package it up in tinfoil, so it stays warm while you carry it back to your hotel.

Treetown Food Court. Most of the Treetown stands stay open until bar time. Thai food, Chinese food, Mexican food, kebabs, smoothies (beer of course) and some other options. Plenty of seating to sit, rest, eat, drink, people watch and consider if you need to crash or go back out for a few more drinks.

Random Pattaya Nightlife Tips - Bar Games

Pool. Most bars will have at least one pool table. Some, many more than 1. Some of the Thai ladies are really good at pool and will be very competitive. Sometimes you will end up playing with a stranger or maybe even on teams. Just go with the flow. Many times a lady you're interested in will really want to play pool in order to verify she likes you. Pool is good for the bar, as the longer you play, the more drinks you may order.

Bar Games. Most bars will also have various small games to play. Connect 4 is one of the main ones. There are others and they are usually easy to learn. Thai ladies love these games and love to win.

The Vibe

Like anywhere else, bars will have a vibe. Maybe it's embedded in a particular bar or based on the workers or based on the types of customers it attracts.

Sometimes the vibe may change depending on when you visit and the other people in the bar.

If the vibe feels off, leave. There are so many bars, there is no need to stay if you aren't feeling it.

Reasons I've Left (after I've paid my bar bill):

A lady or the ladies are too aggressive and demanding drinks.
There are no ladies who are my type.
There are too many ladyboys.
The lady I'm interested in is too drunk.
The lady I'm interested in is not interested in me (too much into her phone, scowling, unhappy, etc.)
I just wanted to sit down from a long walk.
A large group of men comes in.
An overly drunk man comes in.
An obnoxious man starts acting up.

I like a bar with a jovial vibe. Happy, smiling people, especially the ladies makes going out for an evening in Pattaya special.

The View

Inward View

The view is inwards towards the dance floor or stage in all the closed door bars.

It will also be inwards at the bars with live music with all the seating oriented towards the stage.

Outward View

The view is mostly outwards towards the street in the open air bars for people watching and watching the world go by. Most of the open air bars have a railing and stools set up along the edge.

Special Outward Views include:

The Horizon Bar. 34th Floor of the Hilton Hotel, between Beach Road and Second Road and next to the Central Festival Mall. The best view in Pattaya. Also, extremely popular, you may need a reservation during high season.

Five Star Beach Bar. On Beach Road. A great bar to watch the sunset and relax. Walls are lined with interesting memorabilia.

Open Air Beer Bars along Beach Road. The area from Central Pattaya Road and south to 7th and 8th Street. There are many bars or beer bar complexes here all facing the beach. Great area to enjoy the late afternoon sun, the sunset and people watch as there is huge foot traffic and vehicle traffic on Beach Road.

The Ladies

The little bars may only have one attractive lady.
Bigger bars will have more ladies and usually multiple attractive ones.
Most of the workers in the bars are ladies. The ladies you want to meet. The bartenders. The lady at the door. The barbacks getting more drinks. A mamasan to handle the girls. Older ladies just helping out at the bar.
There may be some Ladyboys sprinkled into the normal bars, instead of just at the Ladyboy bars.
